If I were to guess, I'd say this was recorded from a FOB location, on the Jerry side of the stage - I saw Emmylou Harris & The Nash Ramblers play in this building during the 1990 Bumbershoot Festival, and from my recollection, it's not a very big place - I'd guess that the soundboard was probably located about half-way back on the floor...if anyone can shed any more light on the probable taping location or mics used, based on the sound, please do! My best guess would be that Jamie had some type of Sennheiser mics then (maybe 441's), and a Sony D5 deck, but that's just a guess...

Subject: One final note on Seattle venues

Wondering if Burnt Rich is referring to the Seattle ARENA which is located right next to the Coliseum/Key Arena. What you describe sounds like the Arena. A small concrete box.

Then there are yet two more venues there at Seattle Center - the McCaw Center (sp) and Memorial Stadium, both are great for concerts.

Subject: Love summer tours....

This show was alot of fun,6th show into west coast summer tour. My oh my oh my the good old days. I like the sound of this one better then other here. That said this was not best of the tour yet it was alot of fun do to the deep elem and just the fun had. Best were the boise and park west but looking back i see how lucky we were. just look at what the scene had become at the end. I feel i am lucky enough to have ben on tour during the paek years from 81 to 89.... not so much the latter. although i did not miss a show from the late fall of 81 till fall of 89.... so many gems in those years

Subject: Pick of the litter....

The best of the 4 uploads. Great audience recording. The Coliseum was small, impersonal, and very concrete. This is a great effort. Both are good sets for the time period. The Kingdome, Tacoma Dome and Seattle Coliseum were just not great venues. We probably would have gotten a couple more Dead shows in Seattle during the years if it was not for these audio challenged/clunker venues.
